Dead Joe Hill is a singer/songwriter out of New York who blends the roots of folk music with the complexities of contemporary political problems. He sings political and historical songs believing they can aid us in understanding who we are and how we can better shape the future. He also sings funny songs, because, well... they're funny.

He considers himself the "noticer" of The Persistence Movement, noticing that through all political trends, the people themselves always persist in wanting to live in peace, but politicians too often resist that peacefulness. He believes this is an important distinction, for we do not need to defend our desire for peacefulness, but politicians do and should need to defend their inability to provide us with it.
